Matt Pinder –
Matt has been playing guitar since the age of ten. He is the Bassist in The Kevin Russell Project and The Pinder Brothers. Matt released his first professional recording in 1994. He attended Sonoma State University as a Music Major. Matt’s band “The Pinder Brothers” were awarded “Best Local Band” in the 2007 KCRA Sacramento A-List competition. Matt was also a finalist in the LA Music Awards in 2006.
Matt teaches electric bass, upright bass, acoustic and electric guitar. The genres he specializes in include; rock, folk, blues, country, pop and jazz.
Matt teaches both acoustic and electric guitar and customizes the lessons according to each student’s level and interests.
Matt’s approach to teaching is to provide students with the musical skills and fundamentals necessary to perform the music style of his or her choosing. He teaches the principles and underlying concepts of music theory.”

Mike Pinder –
Mike is a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist and has been teaching Guitar for 12 years in the Sacramento area.
He teaches most music genres, including, rock, folk, blues, country, pop, alternative and jazz styles of playing guitar.
Mike teaches both acoustic and electric guitar and customizes the lessons to the needs of the student. Mike is also a certified Speech Level Singing Instructor.
“My teaching approach is to provide students with the musical skills and fundamentals necessary to perform the music style of his or her choosing. I teach all aspects of music with a strong emphasis on music theory.
My ultimate goal is to motivate, nurture, inspire and awaken the student to the beauty and power of music.”
Paul Lucia –
Paul has been teaching guitar and bass in the greater Roseville area for 9 years. The son of a classical violinist, Paul has been playing and performing music in the Sacramento area since the age of 5, when he studied piano.
Paul’s instruction method covers all aspects of music including a heavy emphasis on music theory and notation (reading music), ear training, chord and neck vocabulary, as well as live performance, jazz studies, improvization, and songwriting. He uses a proven teaching curriculum that integrates students of all age and skill level and supports playing in groups.
Paul studied English at Sacramento State University with a minor in Film Studies and is a video enthusiast and “Independent” filmmaker. The proud father of three sons. Paul is a loyal community volunteer who coaches Little League, directs the Glee club at his kids’ school and also directs the Roseville Student Jazz Band.
Dave Albertson –
Seasoned Musician and Sacramento State University Graduate; David Albertson is very familiar with teaching and performing music. He first began playing guitar at the age of 14 and studied locally with instrumental rock guru Scott Allen. During his high school years, David earned Roseville’s Most Talented Award for performing in the Oakmont Jazz Band; and also began to study electric and upright bass. He attended and earned scholarships to Berklee College of Music “Berklee (2006) in LA” program, Musician Institutes House Band Weekend (2005), and National Guitar Workshop’s 2007 Rock Week. After high school he began pursuing teaching experience by being a coach for Skip’s Music Stairway to Stardom program and an intern for National Guitar Workshop. In 2010 he graduated the National Guitar Workshop teacher training program and in 2012 he graduated Sacramento State University with a BA in Music Management. Here he studied music education, jazz performance, and Suzuki method violin instruction under Judy Bossuat.
As well as enjoying teaching, David enjoys performing regularly. He is recognized by the International Association of Jazz Educators for his jazz guitar skills and has won first place in a Shred Off Competition at National Guitar Workshop’s LA campus. He has performed at Sleep Train Amphitheatre (Warped Tour 2008), Memorial Auditorium, The Hard Rock Café, The Boardwalk, The Ace of Spades, Reno Jazz Festival, and many other venues. Projects he performs in include Monster Cable endorsed rock band PointDexter, Unboxed Records signed band Humble Wolf, and Love Royale. He also is an Open Mic host at Shady Coffee and Tea, running a concert series as well.
Lex Martriano –
Pam Shankar –
Pamela Pretika Shankar (Pam Shankar) was born and raised in Sacramento and was recently featured performing the National Anthem at the Sacramento Kings in Sacramento for the NBA. Pam currently teaches voice and piano at Imagine Music Instruction (IMI) in Roseville and is studying at Sierra College with plans of becoming a music professor. Pam is well-versed in all styles of music from pop, jazz, and R&B, to choral, classical, and opera, and even Ghazal, Bhajan, Kirtan, and Bollywood pop which are in her native tongue, Hindi.
Pam is at home in many musical environments, whether it’s performing with her father and his Bollywood band at summer festivals, or in nightclubs with the 10-piece Rhythm Club band, or at temples and churches. She has her own group the Pam Shankar band that performs locally as well. At school she is involved with chamber and concert choirs, as well as the award-winning Sierra College Jazz Choir. Few people excel so well in so many different styles of music. Whether in a studio, or in front of a crowd, Pam Shankar thrives as a talented and highly sought-after entertainer.
